Tinkerbelle sat crouched in the far back corner of the cage. She pulled out the last of her bread and nibbled on it, but she still felt the pangs of hunger. It had been quiet most of the day, with just the guard outside her cell. Things were picking up now and more and more people were showing up. She started to shudder with fear again, knowing what they had planned for her.
The guard remarked to one of the men, "Yes, I'm guarding the virgin. She is most important for this night." The other man said, "Yeah." Then he turned and looked into the cage and yelled, "Hey you." Tinkerbelle looked up and he chuckled, "Boo," then laughed madly, "Hah hah hah hah haaaah!" He then took his axe and made it disappear into his robes, closing it and retied his belt. Tinkerbelle scrunched further into the corner.
Another man came in and inquire, "How is the prison?" Another man answered, "Still alive, and no, I didn't touch her," rolling his eyes. The first man said, "She will be a good sacrifice." The guard spoke up and said, "I have guarded her. She is still pure." Tinkerbelle sat with her knees to her chest and stared at her feet, trying to ignor them.
More and more men gathered around the cell. One shouted, "Lady, come here." Tinkerbelle looked up and defiantly said, "Why?" He beckoned her with his finger and said, "Step to the bars. She replied, "I don't want to." He yelled, "NOW!" Tinkerbelle walked cautiously toward the bars, but just out of reach. He asked her, "Do you want to get out of here?" She replied, "I don't want to die." He smirked, "I will show you compassion. The man next to him looked at him confused and said, "Uhh...What?" Another man says, "He toys with her." He then tells her, "The love to see your blood spill upon our ritual chamber!" Tinkerbelle looked at him horrified. He added, "The path is clear. You will die for a greater purpose." Then he laughed. Tinkerbelle screamed, "I don't want to die." He replied, "At one point in my life I would of stopped them and let you free. The virtues have betrayed you. Tinkerbelle retorted, "I won't believe you!" He then told her, "Pray to the virtues prisoner. She replied, "Believe me, I am." He then said, "A lot of good that will do... the virtues cannot help you."
The strangers kept taunting her from outside the cell. She saw a dark corner under the stairway and moved to it, trying to conceal herself. It seemed to work, as they could not see her. Even though she knew she could not escape, at least maybe the constant teasing would stop. Her solitude didn't last long. The cell door opened and someone came to the corner and started kicking at her. She cringed with pain. He grabbed her by the hair and said, "Come.. it is time."
She tried to wiggle free, but he just grabbed her even harder and dragged her up to the upper levels. She screamed, "HELP, HELP, HELP," but no one seemed to hear her. He yelled at her, "Silence!" She kept screaming. He slapped her and started pulling her again. They finally reached the ritual room, Tinkerbelle still kicking and screaming. The man grabbed and shoved her into the circle and then struck her harshly in the face, shouting "Silence virgin." She looked up and pitifully said, "I don't want to die!"
One of the ladies in the group looked sternly at the man and shouted, "Hit her again and I'll turn you into a chicken." He replied, "I had to silence her." Tinkerbelle stood there sobbing with tears flowing down her face. The lady said, I can work around her sounds. She is my friend and doing me a favor. Tinkerbelle looked at her confused. All she could think was that she didn't want to die. She pleaded, Please let me go. The only response she received was, "Tink.. I can concentrate better if you're quiet." Tinkerbelle just sobbed louder.
She then announce that the ritual was starting, and started passing out torches. The man across the room from her started swaying something back and forth. Smoke sprouted from it. Tinkerbelle watched it and slowly drifted off into a hypnotic trance.
...
Tinkerbelle looks up and see's Sid standing over her with his hand on her chest. She gasps, "Oh my!" Then she heard her friend Cat's voice behind her. Tinkerbelle said, "I had this horrible nightmare." Cat said, "Oh Tink, you're going to be ok." Tinkerbelle then noticed the pain in her chest and face and said, "Oh, no. It wasn't a dream." Cat asked "What happened Tink?" and she told them some of what she could remember. All she wanted right then was to get into her soft bed and rest. Cat helped her up to her bedroom and tucked her into bed. There was time later to clear her head and try to remember what had happened
