Manuever.
I'd been on the throne, going over the duty reports when it had appeared. A shadow wraith in MY throne room. It was not quickly dispatched for it could not be seen most of the time. It had toyed with Gen Naguchi and I. And then, nothing. No sighting. No anything for some time and so, leaving Gen to watch inside, I patrolled outside. Finding, as usual, no sign of any wraith, I re-entered Keep Armunn.
There he stood towering, casting his shadow over me. My father. He was talking with Gen about the wraiths. He stopped his sentence at my presence and we addressed each other. There was a clearness in his eyes that I hadn't seen since I was a child. My greeting to him was cold as he'd been more of an annoyance that best served me when he was in his study and out of my way. In words, I made reference to this fact. He seemed .. amused.
After informing me that the Shadow wraiths would no longer be a problem for the Dark Order, he also informed me the he would allow me to carry on rebuilding and commanding the Dark Order...for now.
Only he would dare speak to me in such a way. He was, after all, our Lord Armunn and my father. There was to be a certain respect shown, and so, I held my temper in check, and nodded reverently as was due him. But then, it was by voice and order that I told him to Stay out of my way.
He questioned that order, looking even more amused, and colder as he approached closer. Inches apart and where I had to raise my head high to look him in the eyes. That same spark as before twinkled in his eyes and I thought he might pat my head. Had he done so in that testing moment, I would have tried to strike him down. But he did not. He only lingered in my path a minute before walking past me and out the door, on his way for his first walk to see what the world had been up to in his .. absence.

Making sure that mother had accompanied my father, and that I was alone in the Keep save for only servants, I helped myself to father's library and my own, researching for the right material and the correct phrasings for something of my own design. Something that would be sure to mark my first move against the Dark Knight. By right, I would have to give up the throne if he so chose to command it at anytime. This, I will have to change. With father alive, by birth I am second heir of the command IF I've proven myself worthy for that command. I have. My older brother has been absent, very possibly dead after these many years, and so, if I can find a way for father to be incapable of taking command, I will have no threat to my rule. But he is capable, or very quickly becoming so. And the weakness my stiffened legs in battle only serve against me. I cannot show myself against him physically, thanks to the wraiths. Having him killed is a path I am unwilling to pursue. Better to use what I am best at. Tactical manuevers.
Quill onto parchment, I choose my words carefully and directly. It is to be a document legal and binding. At the page ending will be set three signatures. Mine will be at the top of the signatures leaving no doubt as to the purpose of the document. I will need an honored and respected witness; one who knows my father personally... I save that for our War Advisor, Lord Mairsil, trusted well by all within the Dark Order. And lastly, a person with the reputation of being a learned and wise figure, someone outside the Order. Perhaps... Lord Galnor Bloodmoon.
Watching patiently as the ink dries, I rise and make my way to pay a most important visit to Lord Mairsil.
