To parry or not to parry....
Parrying is a great way in combat and is quite easy to gain. I assume most new players will and use that skill to gain their fighting abilities so here goes...
Option#1 * Go to jhelom farm. * Get naked, or wear clothes, not armour. * Hold a shield * Hold a weapon you -CANNOT- use * Get 9 critters to attack you.
Good, so with zero armour, you don't have to bother about your uber pieces gettining damaged. Naked is the way to go. The weapon you hold needs to be one of the melee skill you have zero skill in, just hold it. That way the rabbits, chickens and sheep will attack -alot- more adding to you parry gain. (go out of war-mode)
Parry gain is about hits, lots of hits not the one that you parry against. All you need is a skill to heal yourself and jump back into action and a few shields preferable bucklers.
Option#2 Go to Jhelom fighting pit and let the -female- NON weaponed fighters beat you. They won't do damage, but will do damage to your outfit, so again, go naked. You do not need to heal yourself all the time. Yet it is more boring and a drag to get all the npc's to attack you.
Option#3 Use blade spirits to hit your bum, Ehm, I've seen some in D|O trying to gain that way. My advice is to stick to option one.

Option one or two would be the best way to go. Blade spirits work but they hit pretty hard now when grouped 4 or more.
