The taming of the Dark Order's beasts had been thirsty work for Ditto and Ishia.
Upon stepping out of the gate and onto the Sanctan road in front of Hanse Hostel, Ditto coughed as dust swirled up, assaulting her eyes and nostrils. Through her now blurred vision, she began to make out forms of people , the lamp post, and the big blue hued.....Tarothin!
Smiling in greeting to everyone, she saved her biggest, warmest smile for her husband. Remembering that she was angry with him, she stopped in her tracks as she was about to greet him with a hug. For the past couple of days she'd been trying to come up with an idea to change his mind about helping to find their son, Daerauko. His former refusal had shocked her at first.
Mister Malic appeared and Ditto was thrilled to see him again. He was always very kind, even when he had to arrest people. She had been meaning to commit some minor crime to play with him and show that she cared, but she just hadn't been able to visit Sanctus that often. And now, with Tarothin here, a minor offense could turn deadly. Ditto grinned at the thought. Tarothin was most assuredly cute when he was angered. Perhaps is she got him drunk....
Her musing was distracted by Malic's posture and attitude towards her. He seemed to be on guard and not very happy to see her. She was confused by this. He seemed to regard her as the enemy... ..... Oh. I suppose I am the enemy , she thought to herself. Glancing over at Tarothin, she could understand Malic's posture. Tarothin wasn't known to socialize, especially in Sanctus lands. He did his socializing with claws or by sword in most cases. Men were cute, the way they acted. Especially the soldiers.
After getting reassurance from Ditto that she was here just for wine, Malic let her go on her way into the hostel and spoke briefly with her husband. Inside, after getting funds from Tarothin, she and Ishia went to sit. But Ditto couldnt sit long. What if she could get him drunk... Ditto took him an ale but he only waved it off. She frowned in a pout. "But your so cute when your drunk".
"I doubt these people would think that." Taro replied, motioning toward the Sanctans.
Giggling Ditto went back inside, but was soon outside again, even before she could warm herself by the fire. If Tarothin was done with his business, perhaps she could get him to sit with Ishia and herself for a chat. A chat about Daerauko. But he was ready to leave Sanctus. Her chance to catch him in a more socialble mood was about to end. And then, he caught her by surprise with wanting to wallk home instead of gating.
After speaking briefly with Ishia and saying her temporary good-byes, Ditto was about to ask Tarothin if she could walk with him, but he was already calling for her.
She was thrilled. They hadn't taken a walk together in ages. And this would allow one more time to ask him to help find their son. She hoped that after having a couple of days to think about it, his mind might be changed. Especially if she just asked with honesty.
She couldn't help but take a few moments to zig zag happily across the road, or to run around Tarothin in circles, making a game of trying not to get run over by him. Continuing on playfully, they reached the cave. Half way through it, she straightened her path and kept pace with her husband. Her mood more serious and at first, unsure.
"Tarothin, I know... I know that ya love me. And you know that I love you. We've done much for each other, even long before we were married. We have always been there for each other. Before you were taken from us, I did much for you. And much of that went against my friends. I did it freely too, because it was important to you and your goals then. But, now I have a goal that is most important ta me. And now I need -your- help. I must find Daerauko. I'm na askin ya ta help him, but only ta find em. Please, Tarothin,..do this for me."
