Chained to the wall, Ditto reflected back on the events that got her in this possition to begin with.
The Museum had needed her's and Cat's assistance in getting donations.
She'd gone searching for Cat at home and all the taverns save one. Hanse. Not finding her at the others, Ditto decided that a quick trip to grab her friend would not hurt anything. And so, she went to Hanse.
Before she could walk in the hostel's door, she had heard the order to arrest her from Talon himself. At first she thought she was arrested for being lost, after all, that was the question put to her before the order came. Surrounded by many friendly faces and curteous attitudes, Ditto followed her guards cheerfully. It was so nice seeing them again, she thought.
After a bit, and having made pretty pictures on her cell wall with her paints, Ditto met a handsome and kindly seeming man named Garnier. He was the one in charge of Protectiing people. And so, after a short discussion of either executing her or protecting her against Tarothin for some odd reason, they decided to transport her to a place where she could be kept away from her husband. This confused her much, after all, he'd stopped causing her harm many months ago. Why would she need protection from him. It was later explained that she was under arrest and being jailed, not being protected. She was to be executed for the crimes her husband had committed This too confused her, until she reasoned that since her husband was too strong for them to arrest, they must have decided to go after an easier person to arrest. That made complete sense now. Unfortunatly she was stuck in a sticky wicket of a situation. One that she would have to get out of herself.......
In her chains, Ditto fought against her clautrophobia by singing Orc and sailor songs, and thought upon her situation. In most cases, perhaps a wife would relish the idea of her husband coming to her rescue but Ditto's case was different by far. First, Tarothin did not "rescue" anyone who caused their own arrest & had told Ditto point blank that if she ever traveled to enemy lands, then it would be on her. Secondly, if for some odd reason, Taro decided to try to get her released, it would not be a good thing for her. She knew that if Tarothin had to waste his and the empire's time on releasing her, then she would be better off dead. His temper was not something she normally feared, but in this case.....she would, and she would have cause to fear it. Her husband was crafty and could be very cruel with her. He knew that normal things would not bother her in the same way it did most people. He knew the ways in which to make her cower.
Her best hope now was to get herself, or some source outside the Empire's reach to help her escape....hopefully before Tarothin found out she was even arrested.
There was Cat. She may have been at Hanse and heard of her arrest, but ...but what if, without thinking clearly, Cat went to the Dark Order? Not good. The Orcs! No.... they were so busy in their own territory and working so hard that they probably would never have heard she needed their help. Poopers. Galnor! He was perfect! If she could just get word to him, she just might make it out alive and without Tarothin ever having known anything happened.
Ditto smiled and plotted.
